I wanted to practice with my 400mm lens before going to Little Rock, Arkansas to view and shoot the April 8, 2004, solar eclipse. I was told that many people watch the FSU softball games from the roof of the parking garage. This seemed like a great practice location, so we headed out on a very sunny Saturday morning.
The Florida State University Women’s Softball was playing Duke. I have always been amazed by the mechanics of the pitchers. I tried to record the various parts of these rocket fast pitches. I learned that from the location, a left-handed pitcher would photograph better as they would be facing the camera. Also, lefties at bat work better also.
